The assessment was made in a meeting between a member of the Communist Party of Cuba and the general secretary of the FMC, Teresa Amarelle, and Cambodia’s Minister of Women’s Affairs, Kuntha Phavi.
In the conference, the interlocutors also referred to government policies aimed at promoting a greater female presence in various spheres of society and recognized the progress in the relationship between the two nations in areas such as health, sports and agriculture, among others.
Amarelle also highlighted the work done by her guest at the head of the library with wide repercussions in the Kingdom, and presented the occasion on August 23 with the Distinction conferred on her by the FMC.
On the same day, the FMC delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Queen Mother of Cambodia, Norodom Monineath, who expressed deep admiration for the King’s father, Norodom Sihanouk, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, the historic Fidel Castro.
His Majesty also praised the Cuban woman, her meritorious presence on all fronts, and recognized her status as a standard-bearer in medical solidarity.
Meanwhile, the Cuban female leader thanked the Kingdom for its unwavering support to Cuba, in a meeting in which His Highness Norodom Arunrasmy was also present.
While staying here, the FMC delegation was received by Prime Minister Kiti Sangaha Bondit Men Sam An, who expressed Cambodia’s free support for Cuba’s struggle to alleviate the intense economic, financial and commercial investment.
Amarelle and her entourage arrived last Sunday in this chapter from Laos and were received by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs Longo Sophally, who expressed the pride that the women of the Kingdom bring with them to receive Cuban representation.
Cambodia, where today’s visit ended, is the third and last leg of the tour of South Asia, part of which the delegation of the Cuban Federation previously traveled to Vietnam and Laos.
